Pet Travel Checklist

General To Do:
• Schedule a visit with your veterinarian
• Update all vaccines including rabies
• Get a copy of a health certificate along with all pertinent health records
• Refill prescriptions including monthly parasite medications

Airlines
• Reserve your flight in advance – many flights only have room for a few pets
• Ask about temperature within the cargo hold –many cargo holds are not equipped to have pets in the hold.
• Often it is possible to travel with the pet in the cabin – inquire to  ensure that you  can meet the requirements
• Get the right carrier

 Road Trips
• Plan the route – leave plenty of time for stops along the way
• Find dog parks and day care along the way
• Check for pet friendly hotels and what is required.
• Check for veterinary clinics along the route in case of an emergency
